Job Description:

We are looking for a visionary leader to help us tell the next chapter of the Forever 21 story. The Benefits Manager will oversee several areas including Benefits, 401(k) Plan Administration, Wellness Programs, and Absence Management. The Manager is responsible for providing day-to-day operational direction as well as participation in the development of HR/organizational strategy.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Act as Plan Administrator to the 401(k) managing all communications, deferrals, loans, hardships as well as ensure Forever 21 stays in compliance with all DOL guidelines
  • Review all written correspondence and required documentation ensuring consistency and accuracy
  • Guide the absence management team with direction ensuring compliance with state laws
  • Develop and maintain Forever 21’s Wellness Program for all employees at the Corporate office and Distribution Center as well as develop opportunities for the Retail Stores; responsible for program implementation, managing budget guidelines, driving employee participation, and evaluating the results of the program
  • Lead the administration of Forever 21’s Absence Management Program including all PTO, Holiday, Sick, Personal and Leave of Absences; make recommendations to enhance or modify existing offerings to ensure market competitiveness
  • Supervise and ensure that benefits processing, garnishments, PTO requests, leave requests, and related actions are processed within the expected levels of service in support of the bi-weekly payroll process
  • Market the 401(k) plan and educate employees on enrollment options
  • Lead the Reconciliation and Audit Billing process for all bills related to benefits in conjunction with assigned accounting associates
  • Manage all 55 filings and ensure Forever 21 distributes appropriate Summary Annual Reports, SPDs and updates Plan Document as necessary
  • Oversee Benefits for multiple locations including Forever 21 Retail stores, Distribution Center, and Corporate Support Office
  • Ensure the payroll system is accurately set-up to match both current and future plan offerings
  • Responsible for leading the set-up and negotiation of benefits (including health, retirement and supplemental perks) by finding and negotiating carrier contracts

Job Requirements:

  • Ability to travel as needed within both the U.S. (local and overnight) and internationally
  • Demonstrated oral and written communication skills, including large group presentation ability
  • Intermediate to advanced Excel (Formulas, Pivot Tables, Charting) and/or Access skills desired
  • At least 5-7 years Human Resources management experience as a Human Resource Generalist, Coordinator, or the equivalent combination of education and work experience
  • Bachelor’s degree in related field or equivalent experience required; Master’s degree preferred; preference for an earned PHR/SPHR or equivalent professional designation
  • Ability to lead by example in the areas of work ethic, personal and professional development that leads to maximum satisfaction, and performance of all assigned tasks
  • Previous management and development of Benefits
