Job Description:
This role supports the Marketing Function as part of the Marketing, Data & Technology Enablement (MDATE) team. S/he is comfortable working effectively across large matrixed organizations, can confidently create his/her own project plan and roadmap, and be able to clearly communicate with all types of stakeholders from the most technical to the most senior. S/he has a conceptual understanding of marketing programs and tactics, and how his/her work directly impacts these initiatives. The Data Engineer is comfortable working within most cloud-based marketing technology platforms and maintaining integrations with various Marketing Automation platforms (e.g. CDP, Email, DSP).
Job Responsibilities:
- On-going management of data architecture as our KCD continues to scale: create structure, schema design, tables, views, stored procedures, and the creation and execution of multiple database queries.
- Continuously identify optimizations that improve business results
- Identify any needs for additional tools or technology; make recommendations as necessary
- Lead the planning of database & data warehouse objects in partnership with our agency partners
- Understand businesses’ use cases for KCD and their relative priority to help prioritize the engineering queue
- Establish and maintain data integrations between Clorox’s datalake and receiving systems
- Lead acceptance testing around data integrations
- Collaborate with agency partners to ensure Clorox’s overall KCD data architecture suits its use cases
- Author data quality requirements and ensure they meet business and technical needs
- Build and automate data pipelines between Clorox’s datalake and external systems
- Proactively manage data quality and connections via robust and reliable data validation processes. Ensure data is delivered to where it needs to be, on time, within budget and with minimal errors.
- Maintain appropriate documentation such as Data dictionaries and Entity Relationship diagrams (ERD).
- Manage various data quality processes including, but not limited to, de-duplication, identity unification, data completion, etc.
- Build and manage API integrations
- Ensure KCD follows appropriate legal and regulatory guidance provided by Legal and IT (CCPA/GDPR, IT Security)
Job Requirements:
- Exposure to NoSQL databases
- Extremely proficient with writing complex queries and best practices
- 5+ years of API integration experience
- 5+ years of relational data modeling
- 5+ years of ETL & data migration experience
- 3+ years of experience working in a cloud environment, Azure or GCP preferred
- 5+ years of API integration experience
- 5+ years of SQL & data warehouse or database development experience (DDL, DML, Views, Triggers, Functions, Stored Procedures)
- 5+ years working in a cross-functional team that must include some Marketing counterparts
- Experience with large volumes of data / data warehousing
- Experience with database / query optimization
- 5+ years of experience with a third generation programming language such as Python or Java
- Experience with database development and administration, SQL server preferred
